Grapefruit Sangria

Grapefruit Sangria

This was a refreshingly delicious drink that I adapted from Will Cook for Smiles! It called for a bottle of White Zin but who could resist Pink Moscato?!?! #notme

I made this for the 4th of July brunch and boy am I glad I didn't invite anyone over! Was almost upset when I saw the hubs sipping on some but given the amount he had I figured I was safe.

Here's the recipe, you won't be disappointed.

Grapefruit Sangria
Servings: 6-8 glasses

1 bottle of Pink Moscato
Simple syrup (recipe below)
5 oz rum
3 oz triple sec
1 Grapefruit
5-8 oz Grapefruit juice to top of pitcher

  1. Pour bottle of Pink Moscato in pitcher. Slice grapefruit in half, squeeze one half into pitcher, slice other half into slice and put in pitcher.
  2. Make simple syrup and pour into pitcher after fully dissolved.
  3. Top off with grapefruit juice and let chill in the refrigerator for at least an hour.
  4. Sit back, relax and enjoy!
Simple Syrup Recipe
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 tbsp. hot water

Stir hot water into sugar and stir until fully dissolved.

Oh Nuts!

Normally I'm OK with my natural aversion to all things nuts because of my allergy to them, but then there are days like today, National Toffee Day, when I realize that there are some things that might be worth pulling out the EpiPen for! I mean look at all this yummy deliciousness that I can't have {sad face}.

I suppose I could just make it without the nuts...but wouldn't it just be caramel then? Not that I mind just caramel but toffee it would not be.
